W.D. Gann

William Delbert Gann was an exceptional investor who lived at the beginning of the last century. He was known as a very precise trader. Due to his studies and his view on the stock market he proved to be able to predict very precisely the movements of the stock exchanges, and individual shares.

Gann’s method

The question is how did he manage to predict so precisely the stock exchange movements. A lot of people have researched his work to find answers. Some of them found answers. So far, he is still one of the most important analysts of his time. In one of the interviews with W.D.Gann (Ticker interview, 1909), he revealed ‘something’ of the method that he was using. In this interview he talked about the ‘natural Law of Vibration’. W.G. Gann says that this ‘natural Law of Vibration’ is an important value represented in time. What was he talking about? Apparently Gann was in a position to predict the stock market movements and knew the times when people would be tempted to buy shares and also the periods wherein people tended to sell the shares.

The Law of Vibration and the stock market

It took me some time to recognise what W.D.Gann meant with his statements of ‘Natural Law of Vibrations’. I have developed my own thoughts on this theory. I think he talked about astrology when he spoke about the ‘Natural law of Vibration’, translated in one of his methods, the Master Time Factor.

You can find more information on this website; like analysis of future stock market movements based on Gann’s financial astrology method. Using my methods makes it possible to forecast the future stock market movements. Below you can see the chart of the Dow Jones index for the last couple of months of 2009. This graph is designed based on the rules of the Master Time Factor: time being the main factor.

And this is what happened:

Gann and technical analysis

W.D. Gann also developed a large number of ‘tools’ for technical analysis for stock market movements. These techniques are known by millions of analysts around the world. One of those theories is the use of geometric angles. These angles (also known as the Gann fan) are the important High and Low points. The lines of what this technique shows are the most natural support and resistance lines.

The Gann fan

The thousands of charts found afters Gann’ death in 1954 show us the repetitive pattern and history of the stock exchange. In his old charts we not only found information about the different stocks but also a lot of information about planetary lines. These lines of the different Planets lines he used as a ‘grid’, a framework within the pattern of the course. The following chart is an example:

The Master of Time

Anyone who tries to understand what the real issue is, steps into a new world. A world which opens slowly and has layer after layer.
In my book “The Master of Time” I describe how the theory of Gann’s Natural Law of Vibration can be used and how we can understand the real issue of Gann’s methods.
